The 2012 Council of Fashion Designers America Awards

The CFDA Awards is the fashion industry's answer to the Golden Globes, and Style.com has exclusively uploaded all the footage from the night on their website. It is the first time the CFDA Awards have ever been available to view by the public online and Tim Blanks, Creative Director of Style.com, is definitely proud of this milestone!

London Collections: Men, Day 3

It's the final day of London Collections: Men, and what a milestone the week has been for British Fashion and Men's Fashion! What a privilege for London to host the first week of shows for Spring/Summer Menswear this month.

The final day included shows from J.W. Anderson, Christopher Kane, Baartmans and Siegel, Meadham Kirchhoff, Omar Kashoura, Richard James and Fashion East. My favourites from the last day were Christopher Raeburn, Richard Nicoll and Pringle of Scotland, this day was truly all about Minimalism.

Christopher Raeburn SS13

Christopher Raeburn brings breath of fresh air from conventional fashion by adding in dynamic tweaks to collared shirts, sheer coats and shiny windbreakers. I feel this collection is a vision of future fashion, combining utility and aesthetic. A very clean and refreshing collection, both colour palette and design wise, props to Mr. Raeburn for this wonderful collection.

Richard Nicoll SS13

What I love about Richard Nicoll's latest collection is the total absence of print, except for the regal Imperial blue paisley. Texture, dynamic cuts, geometric patches and zipper details flowed throughout the collection, in simple minimalist style. Pops of colour burst at you, but doesn't overwhelm the message of minimalism in this collection.

Pringle of Scotland SS13

The final collection from London Collections: Men was Pringle of Scotland, one of the leading labels in the world for minimalist fashion, and their latest collection doesn't disappoint. Muted blues and neutrals accentuate the panels throughout the garments, the irregular stripe and tessellated patterns bring fashionable geometrics as a new trend in men's fashion and of course monochromatic outfits were seen throughout the show, another upcoming must-have look for men this season. This collection topped off London's first ever Men's Fashion Week! I cannot wait to see these collections hit online stores and stores here in Australia!

London Collections: Men, Day 2

With the unbelievable talent and skill shown in the designers' collections in Day 1 of London Collections: Men, Day 2 was sure to offer more than expected.

Day 2 included shows from Sibling, Mr Start, MAN by Shaun Samson, Alex Mattson and Matthew Miller. The best collections for me from Day 2 were from James Long, Katie Eary, Jonathan Saunders and Christopher Shannon .

James Long SS13

Minimalist sophistication can best describe James Long's latest collection - the calming tones of navy blue in different textures and patterns backs up the monochromatic trend for men. The attention to detail is astounding, especially on the kilts and the printed sweaters, making every garment or piece in the collection a piece of art worth having in your wardrobe.

Katie Eary SS13

Eccentric fashion design is often misunderstood, to me, it's about looking at each individual piece and how they can become a staple statement garment. Although the prints in this collection are based on vibrant sea creatures, there's no telling when they are so beautifully designed. The styling definitely reminds me of Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci, I think Jeremy Scott and Versace should have a run for their money with Katie Eary's creations for this season!

Jonathan Saunders SS13

Fashion designers show true skill with their creativity when it comes to presenting their latest collections through alternative means. Jonathan Saunders showed his latest collection in an art installation - the models and garments seen as both sculpture and hanger. The installation is like a modern take on Pop Art, with the carefully detailed and coloured garments adding to the spectacle. The pieces from this collection present to us the modern man of colour, a man not afraid to show his true colours.

Christopher Shannon SS13

Christopher Shannon is one of my favourite designers, and I have all the more respect for him since he has graduated from Central St Martin's in London, one of the most prestigious Fashion Design colleges in the world. Metallics, stripes, stitched denim and displaced prints defined his latest collection. Christopher's ability to turn the most basic of garments into most intricate is shown in his alterations of a simple corduroy shirt by adding a displace metallic print and adding a glimmer of stripes on the sleeve of a white collared shirt. In addition to altering simple garments, he creates toned down statement pieces which are wearable - such as the stitched denim shirt and the big striped trousers. One of my favourite collections for the coming Spring/Summer season.

London Collections: Men, Day 1

Menswear has hit a milestone with this year's London Collections: Men, being the first ever men's fashion week hosted in London! This gave a chance for local men's fashion designers to showcase their signature avant-garde, eccentric and statement street style for men!

London Men's Fashion Week kicked off with designers such as Joseph Abboud, Martine Rose, Paul Smith, Spencer Hart, Oliver Spencer and Hackett. My favourite collections from the day includes Lou Dalton, Topman and Xander Zhou.

Lou Dalton SS13

Sports Luxe and Minimalist fashion equals one stand out collection from Lou Dalton. I feel a celebration of the coming Olympics and an ode to the underestimated skill of British fashion designers resonating throughout this collection. The tough textural fabrics complement the sports shoes in every look, whilst the colour palette tones down what would be an overwhelming collection.

Topman SS13

Topman's latest collection brings to the cold conditions of London the warm colourful vibes of Californian Summer, with eye popping prints, colour clashes and colour blocks. Statement streetwear and sports luxe is once again present throughout this collection, with oversized basketball jerseys, psychedelic spray jackets and mesh blazer jackets and shorts. This collection is one for the daring during the Spring/Summer season.

Xander Zhou SS13

Structural prints on structural garments will always work together well, and Xander Zhou has proven that point right with his latest collection. There is harmony between the bright colour pops and the rigid prints and stiff garments, bringing a collection that is based on the order of minimalism but touches on the playful avant-garde.
